A regular basketball game lasts 40 minutes for FIBA games and 48 minutes for NBA games.
These times are the net time of the game, and with dead time, timeouts called by both teams, official timeouts, emergencies, regular breaks, etc., an NBA game without overtime can go up to 120 hours, and a FIBA game can go up to 90 minutes.

The FIBA rule is that a game is divided into four quarters of 10 minutes each, for a total of 40 minutes in a game. There is a 15-minute break between the first and second halves, and a 2-minute break between the first and second quarters and between the third and fourth quarters. Overtime games are all 5 minutes long.
Each team has 2 time-outs to register in the first and second quarters, 3 time-outs to register in the third and fourth quarters, and 1 time-out to register in each tie-breaker period. Timeouts are 1 minute in length.

Regular time long timeouts are six per team, with four 100-second long timeouts (used up to once per quarter) and two 60-second long timeouts (available at any time).
